Mentorship is a key component of research training, especially in the early stages of academic development. In this context, the HDSP research seedbed held the “One-on-One with the Tutors” session, a three (3) hour event where undergraduate members of the seedbed, together with their tutors, shared an inside view of how research work is conducted within the group.
This session was led by Laura C. Diaz-Delgado, leader of the HDSP seedbed (Google Scholar). Under her coordination, students presented the methodology used in their internal meetings, outlining how they plan, discuss, and track progress throughout the research process. In addition, they showcased evidence of the advances achieved so far in their projects, highlighting both technical developments and learning milestones reached with the support of their tutors.
Overall, the activity aimed to provide a clear and detailed perspective of the seedbed’s working dynamics—showing how students develop their research under continuous guidance, and emphasizing the learning strategies and achievements that have emerged from this collaborative mentoring process.
